Expatriates

Dreaming of a successful expat experience?

An expat coach might be just what you need

Relocating to a new country can be challenging, and cultural differences can cause a lot of headaches and frustrations. However, once the challenges are explored and understood, new opportunities and positive life experiences emerge. Having lived and worked in 3 different continents, I am familiar with the Expatriate world. Based on my experiences I have identified 5 crucial areas for a successful expat assignment:

- managing family stress

- developing cultural sensitivity

- strengthening emotional maturity

- managing professional responsibilities

- balancing health and wellbeing

Expatriate Coaching provides specific support for each person involved in the assignment. It includes the employee as well as the accompanying spouse or any family member.

How do I work?

My coaching programs are custom-designed to meet the needs of my clients.  A typical Expat Coaching program focuses on what you really want from your life abroad. I will help you to build the steps to achieve your goals. I will also provide you with a space in which you can share your concerns and discuss how to navigate the challenging circumstances that are part of expat life. Expatriate Coaching provides a unique opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and, by altering certain behaviors and patterns, experience the new environment in which you find yourself! Usually I meet with my clients 1-2 times a month for 3-6 months (individually or in groups). Coaching can be offered face-to-face in Italy/Europe or via phone or Skype.  Please contact me for any additional information.

N.B.: this is not a country/culture-specific training, although I am familiar with intercultural and expat issues.

Testimonials

"I met Veronika and started working with her, when I relocated back with my family to the US after an expatriate assignment abroad. She introduced the concept of reverse culture shock to me during my struggle of readapting to my own home culture. I continued working with her and she guided me on my way back into a professional career after having been a homemaker for several years. Veronika understood that I felt extremely challenged by having to juggle a career and the responsibilities at home. She has helped me to focus and prioritize, while integrating all aspects of my life. She is able to strike a unique balance of careful listening with sharing her wealth of experience and ideas. I am forever grateful for her support."
